Fruity and floral, this Gui Fei Oolong is a newer tea to arrive on the market. As a result of the devastating earthquake in 1999, many plantations in the area were abandoned. A diverse parasite, called Jaconiasca Formosana, appeared over the surviving plantations, and this tiny insect made for an interesting (and delicious) taste of oriental beauty.Farmed accordingly to tradition in the region, the leaves are rolled tightly with 40-50% of oxidation. The tea’s ball-shape mixes the complexity of Oolong with the beauty of this artisan producer.
